Official England Travel provider and Destination Sport Group division, Sportsworld, delivered travel, accommodation and VIP experiences for a number of target groups during UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany.
Appointed by the FA as their Official Travel Partner in 2018, Sportsworld’s longstanding partnership saw them handle requirements for VIP groups including friends and family of the England Men’s National Team, The FA Board and commercial partners.
The hospitality and VIP travel specialists also provided unforgettable experiences for England supporters visiting Germany to cheer on The Three Lions, including exclusive corporate packages.Â
The project included over 2,000 customers, 22 flights and 10,000 room nights across 24 hotels during the tournament, which saw England progress through to the final in Berlin. Sportsworld’s experience of handling large-scale sporting events ensured that every guest had a memorable and hassle-free experience.
During the tournament, Sportsworld offered a variety of travel packages to accommodate the needs of all types of travellers, ranging from a brief one-night stay to an extensive 11-night travel package.
Every fixture was covered from the group stages to the final, with the knockout stages requiring extremely short operational turnarounds by the Sportsworld staff on the ground in Germany. Their vast experience, combined with support from their destination management sister company, Amaze, meant that every guest had a seamless experience.Â
Sportsworld CEO, Nathan Wilson, commented,Â
“Whilst operating travel programmes for major football tournaments can be extremely challenging and hard work, it is always a privilege and an honour working with The FA and England, and being part of the journey all the way to another historic final.”
The successful project received great feedback from the Football Association and customers alike, further solidifying Sportsworld’s reputation as a leader in sports travel management at major sporting events.
Mark Bullingham, Chief Executive Officer at The FA added,
“I just wanted to say thank you to your team for all the hard work and ridiculous hours during the EURO 2024 tournament in Germany. Well done.”Â
